Boarding Requirements & Vaccinations

It is the owner’s responsibility to provide National K-9 with current vaccination records from a licensed veterinarian. The following vaccinations are required: Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella, Adenovirus Type 2, and Parvo virus (DA2P). Dogs that are overdue on the required vaccinations will not be accepted for boarding. The following vaccinations are recommended: Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Lyme Disease and Corona.

Boarding dogs should be in good health and parasite free. We cannot board dogs that require any form of post-operative care, with open wounds/stitches, require injections, have restrictions on physical activity, or require the care of a veterinarian. National K-9 also does not board puppies under the age of 16 weeks or female dogs that are pregnant or in heat. Dogs with fleas or flea dirt will be treated at the owner’s expense. Please contact the business office if you have questions regarding your dog’s health condition or require clarification regarding these policies.

Feeding & Medication

Please bring enough food for the entire time your dog is scheduled. We require that you keep your dog on the same food he/she eats at home. Please be certain your pet is familiar with the food that you provide. Sudden changes in food can sometimes upset a dog’s digestive tract. We recommend that you supply enough food for one extra day if you cannot make it back for your scheduled pick-up. National K-9 does not provide food. If your dog does not have enough food for its stay, National K-9 will purchase additional food and the owner is responsible for the price of additional food and transportation fees. If your dog has any medications or supplements to be given, please include instructions for dispensing. National K-9 will provide bedding, bowls, and chew toys at no additional charge.

Veterinary Care

If during boarding your dog requires veterinary attention, we will attempt to contact you or the emergency contact(s) at the telephone numbers provided. In the event, we are unable to contact you or your emergency contact, National K-9 will call in or transport your dog to an available veterinarian to obtain the necessary care. Dog owners are responsible for all veterinary charges incurred including transportation fees.
